CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

2014: Missed the cut in his PGA TOUR China Series debut, at the Mission Hills Haikou Open…Made the cut in his next appearance, at the Buick Open in Guangzhou. Opened with rounds of 74-70 to get to the weekend. Eventually finished T52 at Dragon Lake GC…Missed the cut at the United Investment Real Estate Wuhan Open and the Earls Beijing Open.

2013: Missed the cut at the Australian PGA Championship in December (75-77). Finished T67 with three others at the SK Telecom Open in South Korea in mid-May. Opened with a 69 at Pinx GC but closed with a 79 in the 54-hole event…Added a 22nd-place performance at the Foshan Open on the European Challenge Tour. Rounds of 71-70-70-73 led to the finish.

2012: With rounds of 72-76, missed the cut at the China Open.

2011: Finished T57 at the Thailand Open in the summer…Missed cuts at the Ballantine’s Championship and the Volvo China Open.

2010: Skied to a final-round 79 at the Volvo China Open to T67 at Jinji Lake International GC…Had a solid weekend at the Indonesian Open. After a 73-73 start, got hot on the weekend at Damai Indah GC, shooting rounds of 66-69 to T5. His 66 was the low score of the third round…In his next start, at the Thailand Open, had second- and third-round 69s to T27…A 7-over weekend at the Midea China Classic undid a promising 67-69 (6-under) start. Eventually finished T31 at Royal Orchid International GC…Missed the cut at the Barclays Singapore Open.

2009: Missed the cut in the inaugural OneAsia Tour event, the Volvo China Open (9-over)…Enjoyed middle rounds of 69-67 to T29 at the Midea China Classic.

2008: Playing on the European Challenge Tour, missed the cut at the Saint-Omer Open…Also missed the cut at the Asian Open…Lone made cut of the year came at the China Open, where a pair of 80s on the weekend followed a 70-73 start. Finished T61.

2007: Named the China Tour’s Rookie of the Year. Won the China Tour’s season-opening tournament, the Sofitel Championship, defeating Zhang Yuan by four strokes. Shot weekend rounds of 67-69…Was T5 at the Tour’s Qindao tournament in early March. Shot a final-round, even-par 72…Added a T8 two months later, at the Tour’s Guangzhou tournament at Dragon Lake GC…Made it three top-10s in a row when he T9 at the Yanji Golf Championship in July…Picked up a fourth consecutive top-10 with a solo-sixth performance at the fifth event of the China Tour season—at Shanghai International Golf Resort…With his victory, earned an invitation to the Asian Tour’s Volvo China Open, where he T62, with fellow countrymen Qiu Zhi Feng and Liao Gui Ming.

2005: Finished 40th at the China Tour’s Zhuhai tournament…Was sixth at the Royal Orchid Cup Classic.

Amateur: Represented China in the 2002 and 2006 Asian Games.

Personal: Enjoys playing billiards. Admires the play of South African Retief Goosen…Plays out of Zhuhai Lakewood GC in Guandong. Grew up gathering lost golf balls from a course near his house, selling the balls back to the course. When Zhuhai Lakewood GC opened, also near his home, he made the decision to leave school, at age 17, to learn how to play golf. Did so at the urging of his sister and older brother, who both worked at the course as caddies.
