CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Current Year: Regained his exempt status in March by finishing T3 at the Mainland China Qualifying Tournament in Kunming.

2015: A pair of 75s during cold, rainy conditions over the final 36 holes at the Mainland China Qualifying Tournament in early March earned him a return trip to the PGA TOUR China Series.

2014: Missed the cut in his first two starts (Mission Hills Haikou Open and Buick Open) and had to withdraw due to injury at the United Investment Real Estate Wuhan Open, after opening with a 1-under 71…Made his first cut of the campaign when he shot three 73s and a third-round 75 at the Lanhai Open outside Shanghai to T47…Next made cut was a 66th-place showing at the Jianye Tianzhu Henan Open in September…Final made cut of the season was a T62 at the Hainan Open in November.  

2013: Best finish of the campaign was a T14 at the Ballentine’s Taiwan Chamionship on the Asian Development Tour. Followed a third-round 68 with a final-round 74…Added a T55 at the Foshan Open on the European Challenge Tour.

2012: Finished T28 at the Nanshan China Masters, thanks to an even-par weekend (70-72) at Nanshan International GC…Picked up another made cut, at the Kolon Korea Open in mid-October, finishing T57.
2011: Finished T59 at the OneAsia Tour’s Indonesia Open…Was T32 at the Thailand Open, thanks to a second-round 65 at Suwan G&CC.

Amateur: Played in the OneAsia Tour’s SK Telecom Open in South Korea in 2010 but missed the cut (77-73) at Sky 72 Ocean Course…Kept busy in 2009, playing on the China Tour. Top finish was a T9 at the Beijing event at Beijing Hongye GC…He finished T13 at the Dongfeng Nissan Open after opening with a 67…Added a T46 at the Luxehills Championship…Playing at the inaugural Asian Amateur Championship in his hometown of Shenzhen, opened with a first-round leading, 7-under 65 but couldn’t keep the momentum going and eventually finished T11…In 2007, made the cut at the Volvo China Open, finishing T73…Was a 2005 American Junior Golf Association honorable mention All-American.

Personal: Became the first Chinese-born player to play men’s collegiate golf in the United States, attending school at Indiana University. Left China in 2003 and moved to Richmond, British Columbia, Canada, while retaining his Chinese passport…Enjoys tennis, swimming and music.
